One side of the sink is larger than the other side (16" on left, 13" on right). Should the faucet be installed in the middle or behind the divider?
geez, first 3 response and all 3 different answers. can someone with experience in this area reply?
forgot to mention this is an undermount sink, so there is no predrilled hole

Within the last year or so, our kitchen sink started doing this weird "knocking" sound when the water is turned on. Neither hot or cold made a difference. Sometimes turning the water full blast made it worse. Other times the water wouldn’t even shut off, no matter how many times you would turn the knob to on or off. The faucet is old, but looks to be in good shape. Another thing is we have one of those spray hose thingys that is separate from the faucet, like old-school style. Since day one of moving in, that thing has never had water pressure. It also causes the knocking sound sometimes if you try to make it work. (I should say it did work for a VERY short period of time, but would lose water pressure suddenly.)
Now we are in contract to sell our house and need to have a plumber come out and check it. I would just like to get an idea of what this may be and if it’s a quick and easy fix, or is it going to be costly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Even resources!

In my kitchen sink, the chrome on the faucet, right where water comes out is eroded and has uncovered a greenish/bluish colour. These aren’t stains, they seem to be the "under-material" of what the chrome on the tap was covering. The water passes this green stuff every time I open the tap, I think it may be copper but I would think is stupid to make a whole faucet out of copper and then over it with chrome. Any idea to what this is?

Sorry, not very technical – the "thingy" is located next to the faucet and has a white flexible pipe that runs from the dishwasher to this.
OK, I’ve just found out that the "thingy" is an air gap. We have recently replaced the garbage disposer, but as far as we’re aware, it’s not connected to dishwasher.

I want to get a portable or countertop dishwasher for my new house which is the second level of a older house. Having said that, the water pressure, especially out of the kitchen sink faucet is very low. I’m wondering if I could still use a portable dishwasher with low pressure and/or if this matters for different types. Obviously I would prefer a model where this wouldn’t make a difference. So far, I’ve looked into the 18" Haier and the 17" Danby. I’ve also seen a couple larger floor units by GE. So, my question is, will a portable dishwasher work with low kitchen sink water pressure?
